G Suite Google

The growth of schools that use Google G Suite in recent years has been hectic. In 2015 the figure rose to 40 million teachers and students who use G Suite for academic purposes.

But what is Google’s G Suite?

G Suite is defined as a package of digital tools that includes all the applications necessary for the use and development of an educational center. Although its origin is in the business world, since it was originally a creation of the Google company for the internal improvement of powerful companies, it is certain that it is soon adapted to the educational reality. In 2010 there were 8 million teachers, students and administrators of educational institutions that used this package of applications. It is estimated that by 2020 there will be 110 million.

Within the Google Suite, there is the possibility of generating a domain of own mail for the educational institution, for example, @ centroeducativo.com, which gives access to the entire Suite that contains as general axes Gmail as an access point, Drive as the main repository of all online elements, and Docs as a word processor. There are also applications such as Sheets, the spreadsheet, Slides as a generator of presentations, Calendar interacting with Gmail and Drive, Hangouts as an application for communication, and Sites as a generator of web pages. From the most recent applications, highlight Expeditions as a repository of fully educational VR content or finally, what is considered by teachers as the best of the applications created by the suite, Classroom, the LMS (Learning Manager System) or the learning manager from Google that interacts with all the other applications.

All these applications are improved and controlled every day, and they are adding more and more of own developers who have been integrated with the Suite and improving the experience of this as is the case of Additio or Edpuzzle.
